Rihlat Al-Qur'an Online Academy ("we", "us") teaches the Qur'an online. This page explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it. By registering, you confirm that you have read it.

1. Information we collect

When you register and pay, we collect:

• Your full name, age, gender, email address, phone number and state
• For students under 18, the name and phone number of a parent or guardian
• The learning path you choose and whether you add Islamic Studies
• Payment details such as your payment reference and subscription status (we do not see or store your card number)
• Your progress in class, such as milestones and short teacher notes
• Your login account details

2. How we use your information

• To create your student account and give you a student number
• To place you in the right class and send your class link
• To process and confirm your monthly payments
• To send you important emails, such as your login details and payment notices
• To track your progress and teach you better
• To answer your questions and keep the academy running

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Who handles your information

We use trusted services to run the academy. They only receive what they need to do their job:

• Paystack processes your payments and subscriptions.
• Google Firebase handles student logins and stores our records.
• Resend delivers our emails.
• Vercel hosts this website.
• WhatsApp, Google Meet and Clubhouse are used to share class links and hold live classes.

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts, and the class preview picture comes from YouTube. The video itself only loads if you press play.

4. Children

Children are welcome to learn with us. If a student is under 18, registration should be completed by or together with a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the account. We ask for a parent or guardian's contact details so we can reach them about the student.

5. Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Our records are not open to the public, and access goes through our own secure systems. No online service can promise perfect security, so please keep your password private.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active, and afterwards for as long as we need it to run the academy and keep our payment records.

7. Your choices

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to keep certain payment records.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
